Sometimes, walking fast in downtown Chicago, I use to miss some interesting places. Until two months ago I had never been in Bennigan's, in spite of having strolled that corner many times (it happens to be right across the lions of the Museum of the Art Institute, one of my favorite spots). Actually, the location may be the best part: sitting outside and chilling out with friends you can see the local fauna in Michigan Avenue as well as the great variety of Chicago's tourists. I am a big fan of burgers when hungry, and so far Bennigan's has never disappointed me; my favorite is the "Guiness" (Brushed with Guiness Stout Glaze and topped with bacon, cheddar cheese, crispy fried onions, lettuce, tomato and pickles). Bennigan's offers a special drink everyday, but they are not as wonderful as the burgers, so I usually grab a good cold beer, even when the restaurant does not have a great variety of them.
The ambient inside the restaurant is quite relaxed and sports-oriented, and service is usually prompt. Nonetheless, do not miss the chance of sitting outside in any weather other than winter, just great after a little art-seeing at the museum.
