Pumping Company Pub located at 6157 N Broadway is a great place to stop for dinner or a drink. Back in the 1920’s, Pumping Company supplied fire trucks with water and now it is a pub visited mostly by locals and Loyola’s students.
I was positively surprised by the menu and quality of food. I can recommend awesome potato skins for an appetizer. They are really good. As a main course, I had a Pulled BBQ Pork sandwich and I choose a side dish from about 10 different options. I had asparagus. They have a pretty big selection of beers as well. I had a hard Blackthorn cider, which was very good. Our server was very nice too.
Overall, it was a better experience than I expected.
