I avoid margaritas like the plague. They are too sweet and reek of cheap tequila (the latter is my fault) but, to me, are unfortunate drinks to "enjoy" only when slamming down baskets of salty chips and salsa.
However, my perspective changed completely after visiting Barrio on Capitol Hill a few weekends ago. Barrio's margarita is the best margarita in Seattle. Or the world.
I've never tasted such stiff, sweet brilliance in a glass. My friends and I were all excited about how fantastic the margaritas were tasting and eagerly ordered round two...but, at $9 a piece, we had to stop ourselves before round three. I always think in terms of "tanks of gas"... "Is getting your third drink worth (almost) a tank of gas?" Depends on the mood I'm in... but usually no.
All in all, for anyone looking for a killer margarita and lovely ambiance (check out the entire wall of glowing candles). Barrio will, surely, be your new favorite hotspot.
