I'm a big fan of barbecue. Although I am a Yankee, I do hold the belief that true barbecue generally comes from south of the Mason-Dixon line. However, there are exceptions to the rule and I've definitely found one. Voted the top barbecue joint in town, year-in and year-out, Smokey Jon's would make any Southerner proud. There sauces and rubs are amazing. They whip up mean side dishes like sugar fried biscuits, baked beans, spicy butter corn, and skin on french fries. Most of all, they know how to cook meat. Which should be apparent by their 1st Place finishes at the 2009 National BBQ Convention in Austin, Texas, 2008 National BBQ Festival in Douglas, GA, and 2007 National BBQ Convention in Raleigh, NC. Their pulled pork and brisket are amazing. Both are extremely tender and flavorful. Although true barbecue junkies may be skeptical, I promise you, Smoky Jon's delivers. See for yourself.
