University of Washington bar landmark: The Ram

At one time or another every student over the age of 21 has ventured into, or thought about going into the Ram down in University Village. I am no exception. The day after I turned 21 I was in the bar immediately.

It is a college sports bar that has various events when the Huskies have games, and every Monday there is trivia night. Being someone that loves trivia, and living so close to The Ram, it made sense to me to engage in the trivia as often as possible. It is only a dollar to play and on Mondays the bar fills up fast with many college students like myself awaiting the battle of trivia. The questions are multiple choice for rounds a and c and for b and d they are write in answers. It is important to have someone from each background: science, English, math, history and my expertise, pop culture. This is a great way to meet with friends and bond, and it's the main reason why it's my favorite bar to go to.

Not being a bar person myself, it is hard for me to make it out to bars in general so going to the Ram is easier to think of it as more of a restaurant that has a bar area (which it is). The only thing that really sucks about the bar is it is ALWAYS really packed so the service is very slow. The waitresses and waiters do their best to keep up with demand, but it is still pretty bad for service. With that being said, the drinks are great! My favorite is the mai thai. I can never finish it but it is fruity and delicious and I always love the ratio of rum they put into the drink. I always feel like I'm on an Island after I drink it!
