Fremont isn't exactly the go-to neighborhood for hot, happening restaurants in the city... but it's home to some of my all-time favorite places.

First, and most importantly, there's Paseo. Anyone who lives in Fremont knows about this tiny whole-in-the-wall and probably frequents the place at least twice a week. Smart locals know to ALWAYS call-in an order to bypass the massive lines that sometimes wind up the entire block. If you've never had Cuban food, this place will rock your world.

Secondly, Fremont is home to two of the best coffee shops in the city: Caffe Vita and Lighthouse Roasters. I stop by Vita religiously before the morning work commute and sometimes the only thing that gets me up in the morning is the thought of a steamy hot Vita americano!! Lighthouse, on the other hand, is my weekend special treat where my roomie and I love our iced mochas AND always keep our eyes peeled for Dave Matthews because he loves lighthouse too!
