Seattle prides itself on being a uniquely cultured city; from Canadians to East Asians to Pacific Islanders, the sheer diversity of the area is incredible. No place better displays this variety than Seattle Center, the 74 acre attraction which hosts more than 5,400 performances a year!
With it's close proximity to the downtown area, the Center is really a must visit for anyone traveling through the Seattle area; with the Space Needle, the Paul Allen museum, the EMP (experience music project), Seattle Opera House, Central fountain, and much more, there really is something for everyone, young and old alike.
Having lived in Washington for eighteen years, I've had my fair share of visits to the Seattle Center. My itinerary differs greatly each time I've visited, depending namely on the people whom I am with. Nonetheless, the Space Needle is a must for anyone who has yet to travel to the top: try and wait for a clear day, or a warm night, because the views are best at those times.
The Seattle Center is always full of people, both tourists and Seattle natives, simply looking for an entertaining afternoon. It is a welcoming and exciting place, and I would heavily recommend checking it out.
