Last night my roommates and I decided we were getting a little sick of the Lincoln Park scene and wanted to try something new. Being from Wisconsin, I suggested a random Wisconsin bar that I pass on my way to work, the Waterhouse.
Located directly under the Paulina Brown Line stop, the Waterhouse is in prime location of Roscoe Village and easily accessible to other areas in the city.
As we walked in, it looked like a typical sports bar. TV’s playing various games, Wisconsin flags hanging on the wall, and just big enough to have your own both but still feel a part of the bar.
Our first drink order was a $10.00 dollar pitcher of white sangria. Laura Peterson believes “…the sangria is the best in the city…” I have to agree, but there is one downfall, they overfill the glasses and the pitcher with ice making the amount of liquid deceiving.
Two pitchers in, we were all feeling good. But since we are college students, we had to order another drink. Since majority of their drinks are ½ off on Thursdays I didn’t feel guilty to order my favorite, vodka soda.
Once our party received the bill the ½ price deal showed. It came out to be a little over $40.00 dollars divided by five people! $8.00 dollars for two pitchers of sangria and a well drink, you can’t find a deal like that anywhere in the city!
