I love this weekend. The 4th is something to remember and celebrate as we enjoy our independence. I want my girls to know how special it is to have the freedoms that we enjoy. The freedom to choose our religion, careers, speech, and so much more. I also want them to understand all the sacrifices our forefathers had to make in order for us to have our freedom.

This is why we celebrate and enjoy the 4th. So, what am I going to do? Well, I'm going to a party on Saturday at a friend's house. He always throws an annual party every year and lots of people show up. It should be fun. Swimming, basketball, barbeque and the works! I'm also going to hit the Bellevue fireworks show at Bellevue park. We used to go to the Seattle Gasworks show, but the traffic is a bit overwhelming now. The Bellevue show is actually very good. Get there early and grab a spot. Enjoy all the food stands.....reminds me of the Bite of Seattle. Lots of kids running around. It's a ton of fun.

Then, we need to hit up Palomino to hit the happy hour. It's all walking distance of the park. Palomino has $4 pomegranate mojitos that are great for a hot day. The pizzas are also $5 on happy hour. Happy hour after 9pm and all day Sun-Thur. This place is awesome for cheap eats and cheap drinks...but the quality and ambience is upscale!
