As I've mentioned before, I LIVE for going out to breakfast on the weekends. It's a time to sit back, relax and make creative plans about how to best spend the remainder of the day.
My boyfriend just moved to a beautiful condo in Belltown (the Gallery)... and it is the PERFECT location. We can walk a few minutes into the heart of Belltown, head down two blocks to the waterfront, or jet up a couple streets to walk around the Space Needle and Seattle Science Center. Since he's moved here, we've now made a pact to walk EVERYWHERE when we're in the city. It's great to get out, get some exercise, enjoy some fresh air... and an opportunity to stop wasting gas and spending so much time in the car. In fact, we even walked to and from the Sounders game the other night... a good one-way forty five minute stroll to Qwest field :)
Anyways, walking around Belltown and stumbling upon great breakfast spots is our new favorite weekend hobby. This last Sunday morning, we decided to mix things up a bit and do "brunch on the water." We walked along the waterfront, strolling pier to pier, and came across Anthony's Fish Bar. A loud, bustling, casual lunch bar located right on the water offering a small menu with entrees featuring fresh fish straight from the sea below. As we walked up to the bar to place our order, our mouths were already salivating... the sizzle of french fries, a salty aroma, fresh fish cooking - truly a Seattlite's dream!
We ordered the fish & chips and added two extra pieces of fish (to share) for a total of $12... best "breakfast" deal in town! While our food was being prepared, we stocked up on the fixins including tartar sauce, vinegar (lots of vinegar...), ketchup, lemon and some pepper! We scored a spot outside right along the water and when our food was delivered to our table, we enjoyed a heavenly meal on some of the most stunning waterfront property downtown.
I highly recommend this place to all locals and tourists alike. It provides a great reminder of how lucky we are to be in Seattle.
