Lincoln Square's finest
Being in my early 20's, I should still have the stamina to go out to dinner, go to a bar, and come home at two in the morning only to get up at eight and put in a full day's work. I have found that I'm okay doing one or the other. Either going to bed early, or staying out late and not going to work the next day. One particular night a few months back, my roommate and I decided that we were going to have a night on the town in downtown Bellevue. We both had the night out so it was a perfect time for us to let loose a little bit. First stop was around nine p.m. when we headed to Maggiano's Little Italy restaurant in Lincoln Square. Formerly working in a restaurant, we tend to stray from any opportunity of being around screaming children so we opted to sit in the bar (one of the BEST perks of being over 21!). To get the night started, we ordered a few tasty appetizers and some cosmopolitans to start the night off right! The tomato caprese and the brushetta are amazing! The garlic and the olive oil paired so well with the tomatoes on both dishes and the portions were extremely generous. Considering how large the appetizers were, we didn't even look at the dinner menu. Along with the drink, we were completely stuffed. With a total of two drinks and two appetizers, we walked out paying about $15 each which is a steal compared to the next place we went.
After dinner, we wanted a little night club/bar entertainment. My roommate had been to a place called The Parlor that is directly upstairs from Maggiano's and it made sense that we would at least look at it. There was a line to get in and there was clearly quite a few people inside. We waited for what seemed like 15 minutes but in actuality both of us are ridiculously antsy so it was probably more like five and we entered a gigantic playground for adults. Walking into The Parlor was incredible. We were immediately greeted with the first and most heavily populated bar area on the right and to our left was an impressive amount of billiards. All the tables were taken and there was a really long wait to get a table to we decided to skip that step. Next we ventured to one of the many dance areas. After getting drinks, we took a seat and decided to get familiar with the surroundings. We were having a great time chatting and laughing when a song came on that changed the events for the night completely.
As we were in mid conversation, T.I.'s "Whatever You Like" started spinning on the disc jockey's turn table. Being deep into conversation, my roommate and I had not paid attention to who was around us or anything about these people. After the song started playing, two very large women started screaming at the top of their lungs "It's my song! He's playing my song!" and proceeded to trample over us rushing to get to the dance floor to celebrate their song being played. I had a large chest in my face followed by a large bottom and I was not pleased. Though I loved the atmosphere of the club and how open it was and the options that were offered, I would say that one incident really put a damper on the night and we decided to call it a night at 11:30.
We found that this was the perfect combination of things to do if you are in Bellevue. There is no guarantee that "Whatever You Like" will not be played though so I would make sure to not be around anyone that looks overly excited about it being played. :)
