Tonight, after a quick trip to Bellevue square to check out the sale at Aritzia, we were craving some ice cream to cool off after the temperatures in and around the Seattle area have reached what seems like record temperatures. The only Dairy Queens we knew of in the area were in Juanita and Woodinville so we made the sacrifice and traveled the ten miles to get to Juanita from Bellevue Square. Though the area had many venues open like a McDonalds, a Blockbuster, and a Safeway, the Dairy Queen in Juanita though the sign said they closed at 10:30, decided to close at 9:55. We were out of luck for that location, but because of the now uncontrollable desire for Dairy Queen, we had no choice but to hope that the Woodinville location was still open.
Thankfully, it was. At 10:05, along with about four other people, we strolled into the Dairy Queen and had very energetic workers that seemed like they were more than happy to provide relief for the poor Seattle natives that are not used to this heat! I wanted to go for something that was out of my comfort zone so instead of my typical Butterfinger Blizzard, I went for a cookie dough blizzard. That was a mistake. I should have stuck with something I liked. My friend on the other hand was very hungry and decided to order a hot dog, fries and a peanut parfait. Our total bill came to about $10 which was very nice to see after spending a little more than we bargained for in Aritzia! Dairy Queen was a perfect way to end end our night with laughter, and a delicious treat to reward ourselves for being in this heat!
