I tried sushi for the first time. . .
Sounds weird? Yes, I know. My family and I showed here after a brawl about who wants what to eat. The Heritage Buffet had affordable crab legs, so we decided on the Ameristar. This could have been one of the worst family outings we've ever had. We tend to get very agitated when hungry, now add that amongst 4 people, who just came from school and work. We finally arrive at the casino, and we get to the buffet an hour early. And what happens? My mom and my brother decide to gamble to waste time, I still have a few months before I can legally gamble. I get left outside to babysit. The entire time, however, I did admire how nice the casino looks. It's dual-layered and the decorations are put up according to the season. December being Christmas, there were maybe 20 gigantic trees scattered about and neatly decorated.
TIMES UP! We get in line, pay the price, and take our seats. I can vouch for being the first one up to get my food, cause I happen to be the most grumpy when hungry. I believe they call it the Heritage Buffet for a reason, the food resembles nearly every type of culture there is. There are samples of cuisines from all over the world, but with American cooking. Only a few! After the 4th plate of crab legs, my brother and I always say, "If you do, I'll do it." This time, were talking about sushi. The Asian cuisines had a section that showed off the large sushi bar, I'm not fond of sushi by all means, so I grabbed the pieces that looked most common. The white rice with the seaweed wrap. He tried it first, I was looking for any signs that showed distaste, he finished and said that it wasn't as bad he'd thought it'll be. Now my turn. I didn't choose to take a bite, but to stuff the entire piece in my mouth. My first initial reflex was to spit it out, because the rice kept sticking to my mouth, the vegetables have never been my favorite, thankfully I couldn't taste the seaweed or the fish. It's true, it really isn't as bad I thought it would be. I got two more after that, but I didn't dare touch another flavor other than the one I just experienced.
