The craze to see Alice in Wonderland in the innovative 3-D experience is as explosive as the recent success of Avatar. Anticipating a sold out theater for the first few days, my girl friend and I waited to feed the childhood craze of Alice. We purchased a late night show and were able to get in no problem, but the line began an hour before the show started. Anticipating the line we showed up an hour early and got glorious seats in the middle of the theater. Unluckily I sat next to an individual who refrained from wearing deodorant.
Having seen a 3-D movie before, I expected to get a set of glasses that would pinch my head, creating a pain staking headache causing me to adjust my glasses every five minutes, but the Pullman Theater hit a solid with the glasses. They were more comfortable than the ones I received at Bellevue Square, interesting. The glitz, glamour and in your face experience hit par with this movie, illuminating fantastic graphics. Alice in Wonderland was nothing short of a 3-D wonderland graphically.
What people need to understand about this movie is that this is not a remake of the original movie. Instead, this Alice, is a continuation of the previous. Alice is older, matured and going back to Wonderland to vanquish past enemies and relearn the world she once was so familiar with. I know a few individuals who hated this movie because they went into the movie expecting a story line that copied the original, which I assure you will not happen, but a lot of the same story plot is there. Overall, I would rate this movie with a B+, just hope that your nearest 3-D screen provides some comfortable glasses.
