I had been hearing about Tank Sushi for a long time and finally this week I had a chance to go there. Sushi is not a cheap meal so if you go to a sushi place, be prepared to spend a lot of money.
Tank Sushi is located at 4514 North Lincoln Avenue and is one of the best sushi places in Chicago. I really like its décor. The only thing I would change is the spacing between tables- they’re just a bit too close to each other.
I went to Tank Sushi on Monday when they had a special offer – Monday Martini’s are $5. I especially recommend the Geisha Martini with Malibu, Bacardi Rum and pineapple juice.
I loved their Gyu-Negima, which is tender beef wrapped around asparagus with teriyaki sauce. It was delicious.
I’m not a big sushi person and I wouldn’t be able to eat sushi every day, but I enjoy having sushi from time to time. I tried many different kinds of sushi rolls but my favorite was Veggi tempura with sweet potato tempura, masago mayo, sweet soy sauce, sesame seeds. Also, I liked the Unagi Maki with eel, cucumber and sesame seeds and Ebi tempura with tempura shrimp, masago mayo, sweet soy sauce, and sesame seeds.
At the end I was forced to drink a sake bomb so I left Tank Sushi pretty “happy”. I highly recommend this place. The food and service are very high quality.
