Last night, my best friend, Eric, surprised me by taking me to the Santa Monica Pier to have dinner at Bubba Gump Shrimp. He had perfect timing because we got to the pier just in time to watch the sunset, which was such a beautiful sight to see.
I’ve never eaten at Bubba Gump Shrimp so it was a new experience for me. We had a table by the window so we could watch the waves crashing down on the beach. There was a good football game on (Patriots vs. Colts), but we couldn’t really watch it since the only TVs were by the bar. It would prove to be beneficial for Bubba Gump Shrimp to invest in additional TVs throughout the restaurant, especially since the bar area is quite small.
The service was very friendly and efficient. For our dinner, Eric ordered this fish sandwich and I had the snapper. Although the presentation of the food was great, the food itself was pretty average. I was definitely not satisfied with my meal. However, the Cajun shrimp, our appetizer, was quite delicious.
Although I feel like Bubba Gump Shrimp is highly overrated, my opinion will not affect its business because people value its name and therefore its business will continue to thrive. I can’t say for sure that I will never eat there again; however, I can say that $69 for our dinner was not worth every penny.
