I ventured back home to the Chicago-land area yesterday for a very special occasion: my brother had just asked his girlfriend to marry him! My Dad comes from a family of 6, a loud and unique family of 6. Every time we get together it is always an adventure. One of the six kids is a priest and used to work in the Oak Lawn area. Upon his chinese food search he found a real treasure: Chi Tung. I do not think I can count on my hands the amount of times I have had phenomenal meals at this restaurant. Every time we walk in, the place is packed with happy consumers. Last night we enjoyed a meal with my grandparents, uncle, parents, and of course my brother and his fiance. Being such an avid lover of asian cuisine, I was thrilled when the restaurant choice was Chi Tung. We order a sushi boat filled with all type of delights from California rolls to salmon and tuna sushimi style. While devouring our sushi our order arrives, which varies from sesame chicken, chicken pad thai, honey glazed shrimp with walnuts (grandma's favorite of course) to orange chicken. Upon arrival of the food you may feel a bit overwhelmed ,for the portions are ENORMOUS. While we all easily could each split one entree, the leftovers the next day are an essential. Plates were passed, laughs were exchanged, and a great time was had by all. I am almost certain no matter what you order on the menu, you will not be disappointed. End the meal with tea and complimentary almond and fortune cookies. By the time you leave, if you are anything like the LoBianco family, you will be falling asleep in the car from a full and happy belly.
