On Saturday night, I took the fam to Wild Ginger in the Bravern. This was my first time in the Bravern since it's opening. Whenever I get off I405 into NE 8th, I've never liked seeing a big building right in front of me. But after visiting, it's not too bad. We checked out Luis Vutton, Ferragamo, Neiman Marcus, etc....and I started to think I was in Vegas or Beverly Hills......then I had to look outside and it dawned on me that I was in rainy Seattle.
We decided to eat Wild Ginger. It was my first time taking my little girls to a satay bar. No, you don't have to be 21 years old to sit at a satay bar. Believe me, my daughters would have never passed for even 7 years old. Wife and I enjoyed a nice martini for happy hour. The happy hour goes from 3pm-6pm daily. $4 for nice drinks and apps. I particularly enjoyed the grapefruit infused martini! The scallops were awesome too. Perfectly grilled right in front of you. For the kids, I'd recommend the duck buns.....just tell them that it's chicken. Because it's sweet and tasty, the kids will like it.
We sat around with a bunch of adults, and the kids really enjoyed it. Sometimes, I think kids want to be like adults. The satay bar had a bunch of couples, singles, and older women who looked like they were looking for a date also. Interesting place with interesting people. I'd give Wild Ginger two thumbs up in terms of service. They were so nice to our girls that I had to up the tip....just because. Thanks Wild Ginger for a chic evening...even with kids.
Next, we went to Royal Cupcakes. $9 bucks for 3 cupcakes, but it was worth every dime! Holy cow, when did they start making cupcakes so good......and I don't even like dessert!
