When you go to downtown Seattle, one of the things you have to check out is the classic restaurant, Ivar's. Founded in 1938, the seafood chain has changed the way in which fish and chips are viewed on the West Coast, and I've had the pleasure of eating there a couple times on my visits to Seattle.

There are a couple of options for seating; either sit in this enclosed shelter or on tables directly by the water. If it's one of Seattle's rarer nice Spring or Summer days, the obvious choice is the tables by the water. Some of the things that are always good are the clam chowder and the fried clams; both of which usually come with a drink and fries.

Now, as is tradition for most, you have to save some of your fries to feed the flocks of gulls that surround the area in massive flocks. It's a fun time to watch, and even better to participate in; so go out and check out Ivar's, it's a fun place for everyone to enjoy.
