Steak with dad

It isn't often that I am able to have dinner with just my dad. We always have my mom complaining about the diet we both eat. Usually, we end up staying home and eating a nice meal balanced with grains, vegetables, and some form of lean meat. When mom goes away for the weekend, there's a completely different story.

Last Friday, my mom went away with her friends so my dad and I decided to go to the keg. We both love red meat in its glory. (Rare or bust!) Nothing is better than enjoying a thick, juicy steak, with a little A1 sauce and a nice baked potato on the side. We had nothing short of that.

When I got there, my dad was already seated and ordered a beer. I decided I may as well join in and I had a Mai Tai. No kidding, it tasted like juice! It was really good! Then we ordered our respected cuts of meat. I went with the classic top sirloin and my dad went with the New York. The steaks were cooked to perfection. While my dad tried to grill me on my life which is normally really irritating, I just sat back and nodded with every piece of meat I devoured.

Some people call going crazy and eating a delicous unhealthy piece of steak as reckless. I call it a lack of moderation that needs balancing.
