Last summer my boyfriend came down and asked what I wanted to do for the day on a Saturday and for some odd reason I had been wanting to go to the zoo lately. So I “forced” him to take me in his mind. Really he wanted to go. I really like this zoo. Before you go though find some coupons. It only took us about half a day. I would think if you had little kids though that it would take much longer. They have several different exhibits, and all the animals you can imagine. The only problem I had was that some of the roaming areas for the animals are so large that you don’t get to see them up close, but knowing me if they got close I would probably freak out. They have a train that takes you behind the scenes that we did also. It was pretty cool. They show you how they feed the animals and where they take care of them behind the scenes. It is worth the extra money to do it. They have other rides and special attractions, but you had to buy tickets for that and I didn’t really want to do that. We split food throughout the day so it wasn’t too expensive. I think though the BEST part about the zoo is that in the summer at night you can actually run and walk through it. It is kind of strange to run through it because most of the animals aren’t really out or sleeping. It is a good area to run though in. Now I ran to there so I am not sure if you can park there, but if you are staying in Indy it would be good to look into.
