Most of my childhood was spent in California, Arizona and Texas due to being a member of a military family. I loved that most of my homes were close to a large body of water and warm beaches.
I spent summers in the Pacific Northwest and they were so enjoyable that I decided to attend school in Washington State and found myself accepted to Western Washington University where I initial intended to earn my teaching degree in history. I ended up majoring in Political Science, spent an exciting semester interning for the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee in Washington, D.C., and became the President of the WWU Political Science Association.
During college I also ended up working in several different university offices. I worked as an RA in the Residence Halls, a Peer Adviser in the Academic Advising Center and the New Student Programs and Family Outreach Office. I found these positions to be move fun and rewarding than actual work and it was these positions let me to my current career path of helping students find their place and succeed in college.
After I finished my B.A., I moved from Bellingham to Seattle to start working in higher education and earn my master's degree. At Seattle University I was blessed enough to get involved in several social welfare and community service projects that had a tremendous impact on my life and faith. In addition to working full time and taking evening graduate school courses, I made my first real estate investment, continued coaching figure skating on a regular basis and met my husband.
We now live in Redmond, WA with our two lively dogs Jodi and Holly. I've recently picked up skiing and have come to appreciate Whistler, B.C. for more than just shopping. Most of my time is now spent developing my new company, On Track College Coaching, teaching figure skating, coaching volleyball, and traveling to new places with my loving spouse.
