Nothing beats the nostalgic charm and lighthearted fun of a drive-in theater, a classic piece of Americana. Drive-ins are an endangered species these days, but fortunately there is still one drive-in here in Rhode Island - Smithfield's decades-old Rustic Drive-in Theatre. Since the Rustic has yet to join the 21st century and create a website, I'll help them out a bit with getting the word out. The Rustic opened for the summer last week and will...

Over the weekend, my mom and I visited one of our favorite hangouts, Barnes & Noble. I had searched high and low for a receipt to a book that I wanted to return, and I finally found it and brought it with me, so I was expecting to get cash back....

So my mom and I have been looking for new restaurants to add to our regular haunts, because we've been going to the same places and ordering the same things - literally - for years. Naturally, it's going to be a process of trial and error, because...

I'm a senior Writing & Rhetoric major at the University of Rhode Island, minoring in political science. Ever since I was little, I've been in love with the written word, and I specialize in critical analyses of areas that interest me, such as music and politics. My dream is to write for a magazine or website, but I realize that I may need to pursue this goal on the side and get a safer job in the meantime. The one thing I'm sure of is that writing will be a major part of my future, one way or another.
This spring, I'm starting an internship with GeoPage because it fits in perfectly with my interests and skills. I love going to interesting new places, soaking in the ambiance, and recommending them to others. Rhode Island may be small, but it's full of awesome places! Best of all, this type of writing allows me to flex my critical thinking muscles, which makes for my best work. So I'm looking forward to doing some exploring and offering my two cents on places both popular and off the beaten path. Welcome to my (tiny) corner of the world!
