Seattle's classic fish-n-chip and chowderhouse remains a local favorite.
August 15, 2005
In Short
Duke Moscrip's first place was opened on Lower Queen Anne in 1976 and has since expanded to three waterfront locations (Green Lake, Alki Beach and Lake Union). The seafood-centric menu includes half a dozen interpretations of clam chowder, fish-and-chips, a salmon sandwich, salads, steaks and a rotating selection of pastas.

Awesome Food and Gorgeous Waitresses!
August 30, 2009
(5.0 / 5 stars)
We had lunch there yesterday and sat outside with some friends who were in from Phoenix. It was truly fabulous.
The food was awesome, the service was outstanding and I must say . . . the waitresses were TOTALLY HOT! WOW! I can't wait to go back.

We really love sitting outside in the summertime.

We live in the Green Lake area and drove/walked past Duke's for about three years prior to actually going inside.
We tend to eat pretty healthy and figured that a "chowder house" would not have anything to offer. After finally taking a gander at the menu one summer evening, we realized how wrong we were. We've since been back many times; we tend to enjoy Duke's at least once a month.
Some of the highlights of their menu are any of the fresh fishes as they are creative with their sauces and that's just a beautiful thing. One of my favorites is their Cobb salad topped with salmon...I return for that salad again and again.
While we enjoy the cozy nautical interior, especially the booths, we really love sitting outside in the summertime. It is a wonderful treat!

Good food, bad service
September 28, 2007
(2.0 / 5 stars)
The food has always been as expected but the service can be horrible at times especially if you come in for their happy hour. A friend and I sat down at the bar in front of the TWO bartenders who both ignored us. Thereafter the service just got worse, there was a lot of waiting between ordering, getting the drinks, getting the food and getting the bill. The bartender serving us was very cold and paid very little attention to our requests-I had to ask for an item I ordered twice before it was brought out 10 minutes after I had ordered it. Overall I thought that if you had two bartenders servicing the small bar area it shouldn't take so long to get what you need to have a good meal.
Pros:
Good steamers

You gotta try this clam chowder. It is without question the best we ever had. This was our first visit but we will be back. Had nothing to complain about except too much food. Our server was very pleasant and knowledgeable. Her name was Perri. I recommend you ask for her.
Pros:
Perri

Took my Dad to Greenlake Dukes for fathers day. What a wonderful experience. Dad loves fresh seafood and had the Halibut with macadamia nuts-absolutely loved it. Our server was so pleasant and efficient. Made my father (whose is 89) feel very special. And the chowder was unlike any we ever had. We will be back.
Pros:
friendly servers
Cons:
can't think of any

Always been one of my favorite watering holes. The Duketails are incomparable. And the quality of the food is awesome. Nothing like a sunny afternoon on the deck overlooking Green Lake enjoying a cocktail and an appetizer and watching the world go by.....

Best Restarurant Ever!!!

Everytime I go to Dukes I am more and more pleased. It is by far my favorite restaurant. The Greenlake location is perfect. Drinks were great. Food was amazing. The Fish and Chips is the best in Seattle. The service is always great and the management team is friendly and helpful. I highly recommend it!
Pros:
The view from the deck and the Duketails!
Cons:

great food- phenomenal service!
June 15, 2007
(5.0 / 5 stars)
The service and food was great! Any questions you have for the servers, they will answer honestly. If you have trouble choosing, they will help you make a great choice. The price was reasonable considering the high cost of the items on the menu these days. Our food was served quickly, and it was great! The waiters and waitresses were very kind. I will definitely go back soon!
Pros:
service and food
Cons:
can be crowded and busy

Don't put the staff out...
April 19, 2007
(1.0 / 5 stars)
Everytime I go to Duke's Greenlake location I wonder why I ever came back. My last trip there was my final time and I mean it this time. The food is much too expensive for what actually comes out of the kitchen and the staff acts as though you are really putting them out of their way in order to get it for you. Don't even get me started on the management team. If you would like to spend a decent amount of money on a quality meal, do not make the mistake of choosing Duke's.
Cons:
Service, Value

I have tried Dukes on Greenlake a couple of times as I really wanted to enjoy the restaurant. I can honestly say that every time I visit I am less than impressed. The prices are much too expensive for what you get and the service is awful. There are so many restaurant choices on Greenlake and I will definitely choose another option next time I visit the area!
Cons:
Value, Service

There's nothing like having lunch outside or sipping on a cold beer on a nice Seattle day.
I really appreciate the Seattle weather these days...
