A venue rich in arts performance provides hot tickets and hidden gems.
August 14, 2003

Overview
The university's best-known performance venue is home to some of Seattle's brightest offerings. This is the place to take a chance on something you might not ordinarily see. Hip names on the pop-culture scene play here--comedienne Margaret Cho's hit one-woman show, "I'm the One That I Want," came through before her filmed version opened--but it's the presence of the nation's most dazzling artistic innovators that really sets this space soaring. Modern-dance choreographer Mark Morris frequently visits with his company. In fact, such world-renowned dance companies making appearances here are often responsible for the most rewarding experiences. Under-seen pleasures like Garth Fagan Dance (from the Tony Award-winning choreographer of "The Lion King") make an audience feel incredibly privileged.
