Like the popular girl in 7th grade, Westlake is still nice to look at but no longer in its glory days.

In Short
The crowd is a mix of monorail riders, tourists shopping at numerous made-in-the-Northwest type stores, and sweet-toothed -folks on pilgrimages to Godiva and the Sweet Factory. The metro level is "teen alley," hosting Jessica McClintock, Clare's Boutique and Hot Topic, which sells faux leopard print steering wheel covers. Saving graces include Talbot's and Seattle-based Fireworks, which carries whimsical and unusual art and gifts.

I'm in Seattle for a week or so and went to the Westlake Center ... well, because that's my name. I was glad I came. Great shops with good prices. Although it was crowded, the layout was such that you don't feel people bumping into you. I'm going back tomorrow!
