I prefer everything in WL in the summer because the students are gone--at those times, Jake's is kind of fun. It can get obnoxious when it's crammed full of people though.

Jakes is a good college bar to go to for a nice selection of food for lunch. Prices are reasonable too. Just don't plan to be in & out of there in less than an hour as the service is very much on the slow side even when they're not busy. The place is very large, and the fact that it is L-shaped lets the place be split into a smoking & non-smoking area during the day. All ages are allowed before 9pm, and 1/2 the place is non smoking before 9pm as well. The place is jam-packed on weekend evenings and extremely smoky and loud. Don't expect a table if you get there after 8 or 9, don't expect to be able to move after 11.
