Best Thai in San Francisco
April 21, 2010
(5.0 / 5 stars)
This is the best Thai food I've had in San Francisco, and I LOVE Thai food! I have tried many other restaurants that are way more expensive or "popular" and I always come back to Lemongrass.
The food is so fresh and flavorful, the portions are HUGE and the price is very reasonable. The atmosphere is cozy and service is good.
If you love Thai, you have to try Lemongrass!
Pros:
Excellent food, large portions

Good Food, Terrible Service!
November 21, 2007
(2.0 / 5 stars)
The food is amazing and the ambiance is lovely!! However... the restaurant is extremely STINGY!!! We were given the Look of Death when we chose not to order an appetizer, and three different waiters fought with us over one bowl of $1 White Rice that was NEVER brought out to us. It wasn't about the $1 or the rice, it was the lack of pure principle and common knowledge of customer service that ruined our experience. Again, the food is great so if you just want great Thai food... we highly recommend Lemongrass, but don't expect decent customer satisfaction...and that is what going out to eat is all about!!
Pros:
Great ambiance and quality authentic food.
Cons:
Terrible, terrible service. Stingy owner/workers that don't put customers first.

Avoid this restaurant, they try to ripped me off !!!!!

!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Cheater !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I order the food to delivered more than 5 times with this restaurant. The price they gave me was different than the price that i got everytime!!! I have the menu handy and i calculate the price before i call and ordered the food with them. And when i asked them why the price i got different from the price they gave me, they said " sorry the waitress got it wrong !! " It happened to me everytime i ordered the food from them. How come the waitress at this restaurant got the price for me wrong all the time?? I think there're something fishy.....or the waitress and this restaurant try to ripped me OFF !!!!!!
Pros:
I don't think they have.
Cons:
Ten thumbs DOWN!!!!!!!!!

One of My New "Go To" Thai Restaurants
August 05, 2007
(5.0 / 5 stars)
Three friends and I stopped at Lemongrass after glowing reviews from some people I know who have eaten at Lemongrass. We visited the restaurant around 8:30PM on Saturday and we were seated right away. Between the four of us, we ordered the Pad Thai, the Eggplant with Prawns and Scallops, the Curry Soup, and the Asparagus Lovers special [$12.95]. All of the dishes were very fresh, colorful, and ranged from $5 to $7. The best part of the dining experience was sitting next to three guys were trying to sober up after an early night of getting sh*t-faced. One of them who had ordered the Eggplant with Prawns and Scallops commented that the eggplant could have been substitued with bok choy. My friends and I laughed in his face like The Plastics from Mean Girls.

Great Thai Experience
July 20, 2007

From the very start of the appetizer platter special with all home made sauces, no packets of duck sauce here to the special Chicken Savory which is the best Thai dish I have ever tasted it was a totally enjoyable experience. Loi is an excellent Chef to be recognized and appreciated.
Kimon
Pros:
Home made sauces, appetizer platter, Chicken Savory
Cons:
Absolutely none...

Average food, small portions
September 21, 2006
(2.0 / 5 stars)
I got takeout food the other day from this place. The portions were TINY, esp. the green curry that we ordered. They put it in a small container and it was barely enough for two. On the positive side, the sauteed green beans that we ordered were good and made from fresh beans. For the amount of food you get, I think the food was overpriced, and am a little surprised at the folks who have mentioned that it is cheap. They seem to be doing good business with a lot of takeout orders, perhaps because it is conveniently located. This is why I think they can get away with higher prices for smaller quantities of food.

Go for ambiance, not for food
July 27, 2006
(3.0 / 5 stars)
It's too bad this place doesn't have stronger food. The location and restaurant ambiance is really great. The servers are also very polite and friendly - definitely make you feel at home. Unfortunately, at this home, your mom isn't a great cook, so you end up eating at a friends house. The food is very bland and lacks the usual basil and coconut combination that makes thai food so distinctive. Little Thai down the street gives bigger portions and more taste per mouthful. Maybe they should order some takeout from Little Thai and figure out what they're doing wrong.
Pros:
Location, ambiance, service
Cons:
Food, Parking

We had dinner there about 6 times so far and we'll gladly keep on going back ! The food is absolutely as fresh as it gets, the portions are just right and they offer a very wide selection of dishes. I have been there with only my husband and also with big parties of 13 and 9 and I never heard ANYBODY at the table complain about anything. We were all very impressed by the food. Now I read some people complaining about the quantity, but let's be serious, the dishes are about $7 each, do you really expect bringing a box at home ?? But the service is plain, I give you that...
Pros:
Freshness, Menu selection, Price

Avoid the Pad Thai
April 30, 2006

The Pad Thai was disgusting .. more like noodles and ketchup.
No duck dishes.
Missing the zingy freshness I expect from good that food
The service was neutral.
The atmosphere dingy.
But it was cheap!
Pros:
Cheap, Curry
Cons:
Pad Thai, Robotic Service, No parking service
