| We are looking for an independent, web designer who is well versed in the areas of interface,
interaction, user experience design, HTML5/CSS3, and consumer-facing graphic
branding & content. Our company is needing to source a design project that crosses multiple
user experiences (initially for the Web, iPhone, and Android experiences). |

Required Skills and Abilities:
- An experienced UI Designer with exceptional communication skills
- The ability to translate design into a functional specification is a huge plus
- Understand end-user requirements and translate them into great UI designs
- Understand technical limitations and challenges to ensure that designs are feasible, given the budget, scope and timeline constraints of the project
- Design as a stakeholder in a user centered design process that values close collaboration between disciplines
- Focus on the 80% use case, and progressively disclose functionality that is less-frequently used
- Design screen layouts & interactions in a variety of ways from sketches to wire frames to functional prototypes
- Support processes for gathering customer feedback & iterating prototypes
- Human Factors, Visual Communication or Graphic Design degree
- Expert command with HTML, CSS
- Solid track record designing and translating designs into HTML mockups
- Excellent analytical, oral, written, and visual communication skills
- Ability to collaborate actively & effectively on multidisciplinary teams
- Strong design aesthetic and design skills, e.g., sketching, storyboarding, producing quality UIs with sensitivity to task flow/interactivity, and layout
- Deep understanding of and commitment to user-centered design principles & methods

Required Skills and Abilities:
- BS/MS degree in computer science (or closely related field)
- 8-10 years of professional software development experience
- Minimum of 5 years hands-on experience in a senior technical leadership role designing stable and high-performance, distributed applications and services with complex requirements, demanding specifications, and rapid development cycles
- Shipped one or more commercial mobile products on the iPhone, Windows Phone 7, or Android platform
- Deeply versed in key mobile technologies, methodologies, and service offerings. You have a strong understanding of and experience with one of the following platforms: iPhone, Android, Windows Phone 7, BlackBerry
- Expert programming skills in at least one of the following languages: Objective C, Java, C/C++, C#, or similar
- Strong understanding of and real-world experience with object-oriented design and development
- Track record of developing and launching scalable, mobile and web products
- Excellent written and verbal communicator in articulating complex technical concepts and ideas to peers and senior level management
- Motivated self-starter who thrives on customer focus and dynamic requirements to contribute new ideas required in a diverse, fast-paced, startup environment
- Strong experience with Linux, PostGreSQL or MySQL, HTML/XHTML/W3C DOM, CSS, AJAX/JavaScript libraries (e.g. JQuery/Prototype/Scriptaculous)
- Strong competency with relational database design & development

Along with the above credentials, the following is highly favorable to excel in this position:
- Good to proficient skills in one or more of the following: Ruby, Python, Perl, or similar
- Experience with cloud infrastructures using Amazon Web Services
- 2-3 years of hands-on development experience with Ruby on Rails
- System administration experience on RedHat-based systems
